The Blood Purification Center of the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University completed the installation, deployment and commissioning of Kertone’s Smart i digital total-chlorine and hardness monitoring and management system. The project introduces a digital approach to two important dialysis-water monitoring indicators.
Traditional checks for total chlorine and hardness often rely on manual sampling and visual comparison with color cards. The Smart i system is designed to automate sample collection, processing and monitoring, then synchronize the resulting data with a cloud platform. Authorized staff can review water-quality information remotely from a computer or mobile device without needing to be in the water-treatment plant room for every reading.
The supplied project article states that the system supports one-click printing of parameter tables, data retention for more than five years, automatic monitoring and warning functions. These capabilities are intended to make routine records easier to retain and review while giving the dialysis team another tool for monitoring equipment operation. They do not replace the hospital’s approved clinical, quality-control or maintenance procedures.
According to the same source, the center serves more than 300 dialysis patients on an average day and operates over 150 hemodialysis machines. In that operating context, the Smart i deployment provides a practical reference for digital water-quality records and equipment-maintenance workflows.
